Why POTELL?
What is the need to preserve such a language, some scoff.
What is the need? Is there a need, to state the need? Why wouldn't anyone wish to preserve this beautiful language, the universal language? Does it not deserve preservation?
As we live our lives, we forgot how important language is. Without language, any language, there would be no schools. Without language, there would be no government, no country. Without language, there would be no blogs, instant messaging, talking incessantly on phones, internet, movies, radios.
And above all things, there would be no English. Or fantastic, fairy-tale stories, or bitter-sweet poems.
So, ask me why there is a need. Isn't it obvious? The English language is breaking apart. There are so many types of English nowadays: Mandarin-English, Singlish, broken English, Teochew-English, Hokkien-English, etcetera. Why do we fuse these languages so? Simply because of convenience.
But it was never meant to be this way. Just because it's a convenient method of mixing languages, doesn't mean we should do it. And the way these different forms of English sound! How uncouth, rough and raw. I don't mean to sound snotty, but it's true. I know when most people use them, they don't mean to sound that what. I use them, unintentionally and accidentally. But at least I try to correct myself, and try to stop being a bloody hypocrite.
So, perhaps, what I just ask of people is this: respect. Respect this language, for Pete's sake. That's the least it deserves.

Hello all Potell members.
It is Rachel Tan here. I find it amusing to type in proper sentences and with proper punctuation because it takes so much more time. And i am finding it hard to remember not to add in weird outbursts of "Yay"s or "Haha"s as i think this might irritate the founder of Potell, i.e. Simmy. Last night i went to Heeren and went to this shop called "Mu". I bought a shirt and they gave it to us in this bag that really did not meet the standards of Potell. I wanted to take a picture, but before i could, my mother whisked it off to my cousin's house as her birthday present. It was sad. It said something like "Find out who u r in here - Mu". It was something like that. But whatever it is, it was really bad although they had really nice clothes in there. I also bought a pair of Havaianas flip-flops. Okay maybe i should stop rambling on about my shopping trip as this might not be suitable for a formal organisation like this. I shall delete the 'test' post as I have officially typed the first post in the Preservation of the English Language League website. I hope this post will encourage others to start posting. I am feeling strange typing this as I am usually not so formal. Also, I am sure all of us RGS girls agree wholeheartedly that we did not mean to break Potell's rules in the few days before while performing our Singlish performances.
On this note, I shall have to leave now.
Goodbye and have a nice day.
